Our Friday activity was a Jugendstil walk through Vienna.
The gorgeous Looshaus. For more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Loos
Next on the list was Otto Wagner's Karsplatz Stadtbahn Station. Again, for a little more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karlsplatz_Stadtbahn_Station
And then we reached the Secession building- or as some Austrians like to call it, the Golden Cabbage!
For more on him:
It is interesting (especially considering that we saw the two structures not 10 minutes appart) that Joseph Olbrich worked for Wagner on the Karlsplatz station (according to WikiPedia on the ornamentation). Definitely shows!
The U4- yet another project touched by Wagner.
Our final stop: The Majolica House
Getting some work done before putting into motion my weekend plans.
